Baseball Season!

'Tis the Season for Baseball

Every year, I get so excited with the College World Series. Why you ask? Well, it's held in my home state, I'm within driving distance of it, and baseball is the epitome of summer. Now I must admit, that I am not as crazy about baseball as I am about hockey. However, baseball is the great American pastime. How am I not supposed to enjoy it? This blog post is dedicated to all things baseball. From a playlist to listen to on your way to the game to how you should dress for the occasion.

On your way to the CWS? Check out this playlist I made. I guarantee you these songs will get you in the mood to tailgate, drink beer, eat a hotdog or sunflower seeds, and enjoy some ball.

Besides the games, the one thing I love about the College World Series (CWS) is the atmosphere. There's nothing better than sitting outside, spitting some sunflower seeds, drinking some Gatorade, and cheering on your favorite team. Go Tarheels! However, one should not go to the CWS without a couple pointers.

1. Bring your own snackage.
there is nothing more annoying than outrageous prices for a bottle of water. Fix this by bringing a water bottle (24 oz or less) and filling it up before you go. For ladies, bring a giant purse or a cute backpack and stick your water bottle, sunflower seeds, and other snackage inside underneath all your other crap. When they check your bag at the door, they won't even give you a second thought when all they can see is your wallet and tampon case.
These backpacks are perfect because they're big and they're a step up from a school backpack. You will actually look fashionable instead of looking like you're going to class.

2. Dress for the occasion.
Honestly, you're at a baseball game. Showing up in a dress or a really fancy outfit is not needed. Girl, you are going to sweat and there is nothing more miserable than sitting out in the heat in a dress that doesn't breathe. When it comes to shoes, put the heels and fancy sandals away. You're going to be walking up and down concrete steps and to Timbucktoo and back to get into the stadium. Your feet are going to die.
This outfit is the perfect CWS outfit. Not only do you have your jean shorts and your tank top, but you have the vans to give your feet that extra comfort. You can also dress this outfit up with earrings or a simple necklace. Just remember, the Oscars and the CWS are two TOTALLY different things.
If you're looking for something a little more dressy, go for something like this. You still have a casual feel to it, but you're adding some glamor without overdoing it. You still have the nice cotton, flowy top with shorts but instead of tennis shoes, you have dressy looking sandals. Just remember, comfort is the key.

Also, this is the perfect time to pull out your ball cap and represent your favorite team! You can even try cute pony tails/braids that will dress up your ball cap without a lot of hassle! Jessica Simpson knows how to work a baseball cap. Look to her for inspiration!

3. WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!
Don't forget to protect your skin! Sunburns not only hurt but can cause long term damage to your skin. Make sure you protect yourself and it will save you a lot of pain further down the road.

4. Don't "overuse" your phone.
All your entertainment is going on right in front of your face. Don't spend the entire game on your phone! If you don't know the game of baseball, now would be a great time to learn!

5. Relax
You're at a baseball game! Drink some beer, eat a hotdog, and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!

Happy College World Series everyone!
